If you have coil zippers, they are supposed to be self-repairing. If the zipper teeth have split, simply push the tab over the split section until it reseals itself.
A hair dryer will fix a dent in hard-sided luggage. Take the hair dryer and blow the hot air onto the dent for about 10 minutes. Once the damaged area is hot it will pop back out by itself.
There are many times when people accidentally change the combination on their suitcase lock. When you accidentally change the lock, start by looking at the metal action (tumbler), which can be found under the wheel. Once you see through the tumbler, turn the wheel and look out for a notch. This is a flat area that will be the exact number for that wheel.
If you have a damaged wheel on your luggage, you may be able to do luggage repair by replacing the wheel yourself. Look to see how it is attached to the bag. If it is just held on with screws that are easy to get to, just take the wheel off, put the screws in one of the pockets and go buy a new wheel.
